We can’t do it without YOU! olderwomanandyoungladysmilingtable-300x199

Council on Aging serves approximately 1,400 seniors each day of the week and another 300 on the weekend. We could not even begin to take such good care of this community’s older adults without our more-than 500 volunteers each year.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Meals on Wheels Drivers deliver meals to home bound seniors.

Senior Social Club volunteers assist with discussion, exercise, entertainment, crafts and/or food service.

Case Managers assess client needs.

Office Volunteers perform a variety of clerical tasks, from stuffing envelopes to serving as receptionists (previous clerical experience is particularly helpful).

Pro- Bono Attorneys and Volunteer Paralegals help out in our senior legal services department.

Senior Mental Health Services Volunteers work with with clients in our Peer Support Program.

Dining Site Helpers assist in setting tables, acting as a host/hostess, serving meals to participants or cleaning up after meal service.

The Chef Prep assists the kitchen staff with meal prep. This is the only volunteer position that counts towards community service hours for court referral.

Event Volunteers help us accomplish fabulous fundraising events, such as our annual Derby Day and Wine Country Games.

Each volunteer applicant is interviewed, receives an orientation to Council on Aging’s services, training, and a volunteer manual.

All volunteers who will work directly with senior clients must have a criminal background check.
